Gloria M. (Emanuelli) Bergeron, 77, of Medway, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the Metro West Medical Center in Framingham.
Born in Natick on July 24, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Guiseppe L. and Maria (Giglio) Emanuelli.
She was the wife of the late Edgar Bergeron and the mother of Suzanne Bergeron of Michigan (husband Bruce Pietrykowski), Guy Bergeron of Holland MA (partner Pansy DeBusk), Elaine Bergeron of Northampton (husband Fred Fanning), and Marcia Bergeron of Easthampton (husband Philip Straub).
She was also the sister of Dora Kruger of Fort Myers, FL and the late Dino Emanuelli and the aunt to numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
A Medway resident since 1963, Mrs. Bergeron grew up in Natick, graduated from Natick High School in 1951 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Boston University.
Before her retirement, she worked at the former Castronics in Medway for many years.
Mrs. Bergeron was an active member of the Medway Senior Center and was the current president of the Medway Friends of Elders. She was a member and longtime president of the Sons of Italy in Franklin. She was also a member of the Massachusetts Italian Cultural Commission and the Dante Alighieri Society in Cambridge. She also enjoyed volunteering for the Medway kindergarten classes.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Her Life on Saturday, January 14 at Noon at the Franklin Elks Club, 1077 Pond St. in Franklin.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway.
