WORCESTER-Anthony J. Scotia, 77, of Worcester died Tuesday, March 23rd at home. He leaves his wife of 44 years, Maryann (Bollus) Scotia, a son, John A. and his wife Denise A. Scotia of Leicester, a sister, Anita Scotia of Worcester, 2 grandchildren, Betsy and Mikey Scotia of Leicester, several nephews and nieces. 3 brothers, Charles Scioscia, James and Joseph Scotia and 2 sisters, Josephine DiPierro and Phyllis Paolini predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester, the son of John and Grace (Monopoli) Scioscia and attended Boys Trade. He was a Navy veteran of WWII serving on the USS California. Mr. Scotia was a machinist at Wyman-Gordon Company for 30 years retiring in 1991. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars post 05663 and was an avid woodcarver.
The funeral is Friday, March 26th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, 1154 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, March 26th from 9:00 until 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
