Obituary

Lucille A. (Plasse) (Morin) Desaulniers, 85, of St. Paul St. North Smithfield, died Monday morning at The Friendly Home. She was the wife of the late Gerard L. Morin and George A. Desaulniers.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Edouard and Laura (Jacob) Plasse. She resided in Woonsocket for most of her life and also lived in Cumberland and later in North Smithfield.
Mrs. Desaulniers was employed as a seamstress at several area firms and also worked at the former McCarthy’s Department Store and later at Save Rite.
Lucille was a longtime communicant of Precious Blood Church and was president of the Parish Ladies Guild. She was also a Peer Leader for the Insight Support Group at the Woonsocket Senior Center.
Lucille was a staunch fan of the Patriots, Bruins and Red Sox.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Goulet, and her husband Richard, of Lima, Ohio, and Diane Taylor of Cumberland, and a stepson Dennis Desaulniers of Woonsocket. She was the sister of Evelyn Boucher and Lillian Beauregard, both of Florida, Yvette Piette of Cumberland, Helen Menoche of North Smithfield, and the late Jeannette Gauthier, Therese Fiola Monaghan, and Roland Plasse. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Friday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5-8 pm.
