Obituary

Arcangelo J. Capparella, 79, a lifelong resident of Walpole, died Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Avery Manor in Needham surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Bernardina (Stipa) Capparella.

Born in Norwood on September 7, 1932, he was the son of the late John and Emidia (Trenta) Capparella.

Mr. Capparella graduated from Walpole High School in 1950 and Bentley College and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Before his retirement, Mr. Capparella worked as a payroll accountant at Polaroid Corporation in Norwood and had previously worked as a controller at Lorusso & Sons, Inc. in Walpole.

Mr. Cappparella was a member of the Sons of Italy in Norwood and was named Man of the Year in 1986. He was also a member of the Italian American Club in Walpole and the Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Capparella enjoyed travelling with his wife and playing bocce and cards with his friends.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Dr. Joanna Capparella and her husband John Walach of East Walpole and Stefanie Nineve and her husband William of Plainville, a son Mark Capparella and his wife Angela of Bellingham and seven grandchildren, Carolynn and Paul Capparella, Billy, Alex and Daniel Nineve and Raymond and Matthew Walach.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St. in Walpole on Wednesday, January 11 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Martha’s Church, 227 South St. in Plainville at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Capparella’s memory may be made to AFTD, Radnor Station Building 2, Suite 320, 290 King of Prussia Rd., Radnor, PA 19087.
