James Staples Notice

Staples, James (70), of Boston, died January 5, 2012. James was the beloved husband of the late Bertha (Nelson) Staples. He was the loving father of James Jr. of North Carolina, Wayne Ming of California, Sonia Seller of North Carolina and Donald Ming of Boston. He was the devoted brother of Willie W. Betts of Pennsylvania, Virginia (Jenny) Porter and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Andrade of Mass and the late Adolph Grant Jr. James is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.

James was a veteran of the United States Army. He served two terms of duty during the Vietnam War. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Combat Medical Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Medal, Purple Heart, Parachute Badge and Good Conduct Medal. James served this country with the upmost respect and heroism.
Visiting hours in The Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY on Thursday January 12, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Interment with military honors in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
