New Bedford – Docelinda DeMedeiros, died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio DeMedeiros. Docelinda was the loved mother of Maria Docelinda of New Bedford. She was the beloved grandmother of Wilson and Kevin and Great-grandmother of Marissa. Docelinda was the sister of Cidalia Maria of CA. and she was predeceased by a brother and six sisters. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. DeMedeiros was a daughter of the late Manuel C. and Maria (Peixoto) Avila. She was born in Fayal Açores and has lived here since 1968. She was a stitcher at Paul Modes Inc. until her retirement.
Mrs. DeMedeiros’ funeral will be at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. Saturday at 9 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday from 6 – 9 P.M. Relatives and Friends are invited
