Obituary

ROCKPORT: Theresa I. “Terry” (McManus) Smith Murdocca, 83, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in the Beverly Hospital. She was the wife of the late Neil Smith and the late Nicholas Murdocca.
Born in Toronto, Canada on December 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Lillian McManus. She had resided in Manchester-by-the-Sea and in Rockport for many years.
Terry, along with her husband, Neil had owned and operated the former Magnolia Package Store for several years. She was also once employed as a telephone operator in Canada and Danvers for many years. She was a longtime parishioner of both St. Ann Church and St. Joachim Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Irene and her husband, Ron Huntley of Canada, Kathy Smith of Gloucester and Laura and her husband, Tim Barry of Danvers; four sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Sada Smith of Biloxi, MS, Larry and Patti Smith of Lancaster, PA, Bruce and Michelle Smith of Florida, MA and Tom and Jen Smith of Bonita Springs, FL; twenty-five grandchildren; two great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two sons, Daniel and Peter Smith, a brother, Jack McManus and a sister, Marge Harker.
A memorial funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 13th in the Holy Family Parish, St. Ann Church, Pleasant St., Gloucester at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Holy Family Parish, St. Ann Church, 60 Prospect St., Gloucester, MA 01930.
