Daniel J. Donahue, Jr. of Westport Island, ME died suddenly at his home in Palm City, FL., January 2, 2012. Daniel was born in Braintree, MA September 24, 1938. He was the son of the late Mildred (Mahoney) and Daniel J. Donahue. Dan leaves behind his wife Sandra (Storer) Donahue. He was the beloved father of David R. Donahue (Nancy) of Forestdale, Pamela J. Sullivan (William) of Marshfield and Judith A. Brabants, of Marshfield. Cherished grand father of Matthew W. and Kelly R. Sullivan, Molly Rose and David Donahue Jr., and Dillon M. Brabants. Great-grand father of Isabella Irene Brabants. Brother of Joseph D. Donahue (Cynthia), of Arnold, MD and FL., and Darrylle A. Curran (Edward), of Sandwich, MA. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Daniel was the former husband and dear friend of the late Margaret (Rush) Donahue.
Dan lived on Cape Cod for many years. He was the owner of DJ Donahue Corporation and the Atrium Garden Center in Mashpee, MA. Since his retirement he has lived and enjoyed his summers in Westport Island, ME and his winters in Palm City, FL with his two beloved dogs Brady and Dugan.
He lived life to the fullest for sure, loving the ocean, yachting and his many friends. He will surely be missed by all.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday, January 8 from 3 to 7pm at the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean St. Rte 139 Marshfield.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday at 9am. Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery Marshfield.
