Seaverns, Dana L. “Buddy” 86, at home January 1st. Beloved husband of Gladys A. (Saunders) Seaverns of Plymouth. Loving father of Lynne A. Gerenia, Lori J. Banning and Dana S. Seaverns all of Plymouth. Grandfather of Erico, Melani, and Joshua Gerenia, Jenna, and Joslyn Banning and David Seaverns. He also leaves a sister Jane Splitz of Bridgewater and many nieces and nephews. Brother of the late Evelyn Asack and William Seaverns.
Dana was born in Boston the son of Dana and Evelyn (Barros) Seaverns. Graduate of Stetson High School in Randolph, MA, Class of 1943, Burdett College and Northeastern University. Dana served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII earning an Asiatic and Pacific Ribbons with 1 Bronze Star, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, American WWII Area Victory Ribbons. Dana worked for the New England Telephone Co. as a Sales Staff Supervisor and Administrative Assistant and worked on bringing the 911 service to Maine and Massachusetts. He was a long time member of the Plymouth Yacht Club, Plymouth Rod and Gun Club, Plymouth Country Club, Plymouth County Beekeepers Association and Massachusetts Archeological Society as well as being a Real Estate Broker in his younger years. He was a member of the Masons and the Aleppo Shrine. He was an avid reader, (World War II stories) enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and his dog Dakota. His Tartan sailboat, “C'est La Vie” was his pride and joy.
