Obituary

Raymond L. Derome, 92, of Manchester, died December 31, 2011 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Manchester on November 30, 1919, the son of William and Lena (Lareau) Derome. He was educated in the local school system.
During WWII, he served in the Medical Detachment 629th Tank Destroyers Battalion in the US Army landing on Omaha Beach the day after D Day and traveling through the war torn cities of Europe.
Prior to retirement in 1988, he was employed with NYCOA (Nylon Corporation of America) for many years.
Raymond's true love was his family and he cherished the time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a devout Catholic who was passionate about the Red Sox, landscaping and home improvement projects. He also enjoyed dining out with friends and family.
His wife of 60 years Lucille E. (Houle) Derome died in July of 2006.
Family members include two daughters, Elaine J. Domian and husband Walter of Merrimack, Lisa M. Earley and husband David of Norfolk, MA; one son, Ronald P. Derome of Manchester; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Norman Derome of Manchester; nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, January 8, 2012 in St. Catherine of Siena Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock Streets. Burial with military honors followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH 03054.
