Obituary

Mr. Edward Costa, of Taunton, died unexpectedly Saturday, December 31 in Morton Hospital. He was the loving companion of Bette Riebesehl. He was born 77 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Anthony and Josephine (Medeiros) Costa. He was educated in San Diego, Calif., and had been a Taunton resident since 1979. Prior to his retirement, he was a self-employed jeweler in the Taunton area since 1979. Previously, he had been the Magistrate of Licensing for the City of Palm Springs, Calif., where he also owned and operated a restaurant. Mr. Costa was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with his dogs and his friends.
In addition to his companion, of Taunton, he leaves: 3 sons: Edward Allen Costa of Calif., David Riebesehl of Springfield, Ma., and Todd Riebesehl of Taunton; 2 daughters: Susan McGrew and her husband, Robert of Marstons Mills, and Laura Newvine, Jr. and her husband, Dudley of Taunton; 2 brothers: Joseph Costa of San Diego, Calif., and Louis Costa of Taunton; 1 sister: Elaine Morris of San Diego, Calif.; 1 grandson: Brooks McCarty of Concord, Calif., and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Anthony Costa and Gilda Pata.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Saturday, January 7 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Mayflower Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M.
