Gardner, Alane R. (Kassoy) age 61 of Brookline on Sat., December 31, 2011. Died in Boston after struggling with a long illness. Born in Winthrop and was a resident of Brookline for 25 years. Alane graduated from Marblehead High School Class of 1968, and then furthered her studies with a degree from The Chandler School for Women, Boston. Alane worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Non-Profit Sector. She loved the Red Sox, was a world class traveler and much appreciated the arts. Alane is the beloved and devoted wife of Lester Gardner. Stepmother of William Gardner of FL, Dora Wroblewski of FL, and Stuart Gardner of Beverly, Loving daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth (Cohen) Kassoy. Dear sister of Dr. Gerald Kassoy of OH, Iris Fulton of Marblehead, and Eric Kassoy of Marlborough. Beloved grandmother of
Samantha and Lucy. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Avenue, Cary Sq, Chelsea, MA on Monday, January 2, at 12pm. Interment in Sudilkov Cemetery, Everett, Memorial Observance to be held Monday and Tuesday beginning at 6PM.
