Capt. Roger C. Droukas, age 63, of St. Augustine, FL, formerly of Brockton, passed away suddenly on December 11, 2011 of Chrohn’s Disease surrounded by his family at the Bailey Family Center for Caring. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Creeden) Droukas. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of Ann (Hantis) Droukas and the late Peter Droukas. Roger served in the US Navy during Vietnam and was a member of the American Legion. For many years he worked in his family’s business, Drew Tanning in Brockton and after moving to St. Augustine in 1999, he owned and operated a charter fishing business. Most recently in partnership with his son Mark, Roger owned and operated Admiral Yacht Sales at Camachee Cove in St. Augustine.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by two sons, Roger Droukas, Jr. of Milwaukee, WI and Mark Droukas of Jacksonville, FL, two daughters, Ann-Marie Droukas-Quinn of Jacksonville, FL and Meredith Droukas-Stroud of St. Augustine, FL; a sister Paulette Galvin of Port Washington, NY and seven grandchildren. He was the brother of the late P. Ronald Droukas.
A Memorial Gathering for the Celebration of his life will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday, January 3 from 4-6pm.
