Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Catherine M. (Doucette) Deveau, 91, died Friday, December 30, 2011 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late John A. Deveau who died in 1996.
Born in Gloucester on April 18, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary (Robicheau) Doucette. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and had attended Gloucester public schools.
Catherine enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Las Vegas and Disney World in Orlando. She also loved her scratch tickets. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Doris L. and Ronald A. Jesso of Gloucester; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert P. and Colleen M. (Gillie) Deveau and David A. and Virginia L. (Piscitello) Deveau all of Gloucester; ten grandchildren, Catherine Juda-Singh, Roxan DeCaro, Renee Holdeness, Tami Jesso, Megan Deveau, Dr. Jill Deveau, Michelle Smith, John Deveau, Lisa Deveau and John Deveau; seventeen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her two sons, Donald Deveau and John Deveau, Jr. and his wife, Joanne (Settipani) Deveau, a sister, Betty Ellenwood and two brothers, John and Gilbert Doucette.
Her visiting hours will be held on Wednesday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
