Shirley Phillips, 67, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, January 1, 2012, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Gary Patterson and the Rev. Marvin Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Pulaski County. The family will receive friends from 6-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Phillips was born October 30, 1944 in Ben Hill County to the late Frederick Wheeles and the late Minnie Lou Meeks Wheeles Barron. She had lived in Fitzgerald for the past three years, moving from Cumming. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Finleyson.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Tammy & Gary Patterson of Dahlonega and Karen & Bryan Holbrooks of Cumming, son and daughter-in-law: Michael & Dawn Phillips of Dawsonville; grandchildren: Lee Patterson, Dustin Barnes, Jake Phillips, Eli Phillips, and Paxton Phillips; and a sister and brother-in-law: Barbara & Allen Bridges of Fitzgerald.
