Maria B. (Brum) Mello, 98, of New Bedford died December 27, 2011 at New Bedford Health Care Center.
She was the wife of the late Albert P. Mello.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, the daughter of the late Antone P. and Maria deGloria (Mendonca) Brum, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include two sons, Albert P. Mello, Jr. and his wife Pauline of Fairhaven, and Elliott P. Mello and his wife Terry of South Dartmouth; a daughter, Bernice McLoughlin of East Freetown; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Stanley Mello and the sister of the late Stella Figueirido, Alexeidrina Elentario, Ethel Perry, Mary Almeida, Clara Arruda, John Brum and Antone Brum.
Her private Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, December 29th in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial followed in St. John's Cemetery.
