Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Mary Jane (Molloy) Horton, died Tuesday evening, December 27, 2011 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Harold A. Horton, who died in March of 1991.
Born in Boston on December 15, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Paul F. and Mary J. (Donahue) Molloy. She had resided in Dorchester and South Boston before moving to Cape Ann in 1941. She was a graduate of the Rockport High School class of 1947.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph E. and Jane (McDonald) Poirier and Thomas F. and Allison Poirier; a granddaughter, Lani, wife of Justin Heath; two great-granddaughters, Maya and Lelia Heath; a brother, Thomas F. Molloy; her sister-in-law and dear friend, Audrey Molloy; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her grandson, Paul F. Poirier and her sister, Claire M. Payne.
A memorial Mass will be held privately by the family. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Atlantic Rest Home, “Resident Activity Fund,” 60 Atlantic St., Lynn, MA 01902. Arrangements are under the direction of the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester.
