Richard A. “Rick” Savage, age 54 of Middleboro, died unexpectedly December 23, 2011 at the Morton Hospital, Taunton. Rick was born and raised in Brockton, a son of the late Lewis H. Savage, Jr. and Blanche Z. (Dion) Savage. For the past ten years he had been a resident of Middleboro. A 1975 graduate of Brockton High School, Rick was a master carpenter and co-owner of Counter Productions of Brockton with his brother, Russell E. Savage. Previously he had worked in the family business, Ralsco Kitchens in Brockton. In his free time Rick loved being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, swimming and playing hockey. He enjoyed his home and working around his yard. He will be remembered by all as a gentle, kind, honest and hard working man who would give you the shirt off his back.
He leaves behind his soul mate and companion, Lynne Rollins of Middleboro, two sons Derek Savage and his wife Katelyn of Brockton and Shad Savage of Wareham. He was the grandfather of Autumn Savage and loving brother of Nancy Brown of the Woodlands, TX; Russell E. Savage and his wife Joanna of Onset; Jay Savage and his wife Deborah of Peoria, AZ and Lisa A. Savage of Roslindale. He also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends, including special friends Jose and Sheri Rodriguez of Middleboro.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday 4:30 to 8pm. A Celebration of his Life will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 11am. Burial will be at a later date.
