Bruce Alan Bartlett, of Plymouth, died on December 27th at Jordan Hospital at the age of 68. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Brenda (Borgatti) of Plymouth, his son Christopher of Hooksett, NH and his daughter Amanda Kilian of Trinity, FL. He was the proud Papa of Alexandra Sage and Maya Danae Kilian. He was the brother of the late Arthur C. Bartlett of Seattle, WA. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends and coworkers.
Bruce, a Mayflower descendant, was born and raised in Plymouth, graduating from Plymouth High School, Class of 1962. He was the son of the late Warren C. Bartlett and Mary (Benassi), who had owned Bartlett Oil Company. After high school, he joined the U.S Army, serving tours in Seoul, South Korea from 1963-1964 and in Vietnam from 1965-1966 and was honorably discharged as a SGT in 1968. Bruce worked for Butler Aviation at Logan Airport from 1968 thru 1972 then worked for Griffin Avionics at the Barnstable Municipal Airport for 42 years until his retirement in 2011. He was a member of the Cedar Gun Club in Halifax for 30 years, serving as president from 2004 to 2009. He was also a lifelong member of the NRA since 1962 and was an avid hunter and fisherman since he was a young teenager and was a lobsterman for 22 years; proudly providing from the land for his family.
Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) on Monday, January 2nd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 3rd at 10 AM. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations in his memory be made to the Jordan Hospital Cancer Center, 275 Sandwich St, Plymouth, MA 02360.
