Mr. Alfred D. Senechal, of Taunton, died Monday, December 26 in Morton Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Janice B. (McKeen) Senechal. He was born 82 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Desire and Rosabelle (Dechene) Senechal. He was educated in Taunton, having graduated from Taunton High School, and was a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed at Reed and Barton of Taunton for 32 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Senechal received the Marian Medal in 1982, and was active in the Taunton Colonial Minutemen. He enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his family and friends. A communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish, he was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Parish, where he was active in numerous parish activities.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 3 daughters: Linda Boiros and her husband, Todd of Taunton, Nancy Wooster and her husband, Thomas of No. Easton, and Gail Senechal of Middleborough; 1 brother: Leo Senechal and his wife, Joann of Taunton; 4 grandchildren: Kelli Boiros, Kristen Mercier, Thomas Wooster, and Taylor Wooster; 1 great granddaughter: Liliana Mercier, his sisters-in-law: Helen Senechal of Taunton and Joan Shurtleff of Lakeville; a niece: Doris Furness of Braintree; a nephew: Edward Senechal of Falmouth, and several cousins. Mr. Senechal was also the brother of the late Raymond Senechal and Theresa Dansereau, both of Taunton.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Saturday, December 31 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
