Obituary

Alec J. Campbell, a resident of Wakefield for the last year and a half and former 41 year resident of Waltham, died on Monday, December 26, 2011 at The Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a lengthy illness. He was 46 years old.

Alec was born in Long Beach, California on April 18, 1965 to Joan (McGinness) Campbell and David Campbell. He grew up in Waltham where he attended Waltham Public Schools and graduated from Waltham High School in 1983. Alec then furthered his education and recieved his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Framingham State College in 1992. Alec had been working for the last 15 years as a counselor and then supervisor for BayCove Human Services in Boston which cares for adults who are physically and mentally challenged. Previously, Alec worked in the produce department for 15 years at The Waltham Supermarket. Alec was an avid camper and bird watcher.

Alec is the beloved son of Joan (McGinness) Campbell of Wakefield and David and Patricia Campbell of Mashpee and Venice, Florida. He is the loving twin brother of Eric Campbell and his wife Jacqueline of Sterling and the devoted brother of Kathryn Lunderville of Wakefield, Philip Campbell and his wife Sharon of Leominster, Douglas Campbell of Wakefield, Bruce Campbell of Pompano Beach, Florida and Susan DeVelis and her husband Joseph of Boxford. He is the loving uncle of 9 nephews and 1 niece and also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Alec on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 1 to 4 p.m. followed by his Funeral Service at 4 p.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Wakefield/Melrose line. Burial is private.
