Goffstown– Rita A. Gaumont, 87, died December 26, 2011 at Catholic Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester on November 8, 1924 the daughter of Thomas and Evelyn (Rouillard) Roberge. She had been a lifelong resident of the Manchester area.
Prior to her retirement she had worked for Velcro USA and later for St Anselm’s College in the housekeeping department for 10 years.
She devoted her time to caring for her grandchildren, and great grandchild.
She was predeceased by her husband Bertrand O. Gaumont on December 16, 1993, and a son, William Gaumont who died on April 21, 1987.
Family members include 1 daughter, Therese Ouellette and her husband Robert of Manchester, 2 sons; Thomas Gaumont of Heron MT., Michael Gaumont of Manchester, 1 daughter; 6 grandchildren; Joseph Gaumont, Michelle Lapidus and her husband David, Leah Mann and her husband Scott, Jeffrey Ouellette, Michael Gaumont, Kelly Gaumont, 1 great grandchild, Joseph Gaumont Jr., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM in J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM following calling hours in St. Hedwig Church. Burial will be at a later date in St. Augustin Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their appreciation for the care that Rita received while at Hillsborough County Nursing Home.
