Rosemarie A. “Rory” (Manzelli) Caratelli, of Billerica, formerly of Medford, died peacefully at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, in the company of her loving family. She was 64.
Rory was born in Boston’s North End, the daughter of Alfred Manzelli and the late Florence (Perroti). A National Honor Society graduate of Julie Billiart High School, She went to Boston State where she prepared to be a teacher. She later earned her Master’s Degree at Cambridge College. Rory was a long-time teacher with the Medford Public School System. She taught at the Forest Park, Davenport and Roberts Elementary School. She was a devoted teacher who made lasting impressions on her young students’ lives. Rory was a loving wife and mother who took time away from teaching to raise her son. She enjoyed good times with her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
The beloved wife of Fran Caratelli, she was a devoted mother to David Caratelli of Billerica and his fiancée Rebecca Tenney. She was a dear sister to Alfred Manzelli and his wife Barbara of Billerica, Vincent Manzelli of Mississippi, Debra Spencer and her husband Michael of Billerica and the late Philip Manzelli. She leaves her dear Godson Daniel Spencer and many other nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday, December 27th, from 4 thru 8 PM and again on Wednesday morning, at 9:30 followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 10:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
