HERRIN, Joseph Everette Of Sumrall, MS, passed away at his residence in Cottontown, TN on December 14, 2011. He was 59 years old. He attended school in Sumrall, MS. Joe was a 1970 graduate of Sumrall High School where he excelled in his studies as well as his athletic endeavors. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed and served 6 years at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. As a civilian he pursued a career in Dialysis. Among many accomplishments over his 30 year career in this field, he was commended by President Jimmy Carter for his contributions in the development of Infant Dialysis. Prior to his death he was employed with Fresenius Dialysis at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kim Herrin of Oxford, MS; parents, Bobby and Jean Herrin of Sumrall, MS; grandson, John David Richie of Troy, MS, and brother, Michael Herrin of Sumrall, MS. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Herrin Richie of Troy, MT, Cassandra Herrin of Cottontown, TN, Brieah Pigg of Carthage, MS, Heather Faust of Oxford, MS, and two sons, Brian Sistrunk of Brandon, MS, and Zack Faust of Oxford, MS. He was a proud grandfather to Micah, Ethan, Kolton, and Davy Joe. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation in Mississippi and Tennessee.
