Maurice J. Desruisseau, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2011 at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home. Maurice was the son of the late William and Clara (Monty) Desruisseau. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Yvonne F. (Morency) Desruisseau and his beloved Grandson, Gary R. Letourneau, Jr.
Mr. Desruisseau lived in Lawrence his entire life and was employed by Stefan’s Automotive Supply Store and then became a well loved custodian at the Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational Technical High School from where he retired at the age of 75.
He leaves behind his five children, Patrice Blanchette and husband Robert of Andover, Susan Letourneau and husband Gary, from North Andover, Maurice P. and wife Pauline of Andover, Richard and wife Kathy from Oklahoma, and Michael and wife Caroline, from Andover. “Pappy”, as he was known to many of his grandchildren, leaves behind 12 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren.
Upon the wishes of the deceased, there will be no calling hours. There will be a funeral mass celebrated at St. Michael’s Church in North Andover on Wednesday, December 28 at 11:00 a.m.
At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gary R. Letourneau Jr. Memorial Fund c/o Salem Five Bank, 530 Turnpike Street, North Andover, MA 01845. These funds go to the Mass General Hospital Pediatric Oncology Clinic where Mr. Desruisseau’s grandson, Gary Jr., was a patient for 17 years.
The family of the deceased would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the staff of the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home for the wonderful, loving care they have given their father for the past 3 years.
