Josephine S. (Birnbaum) Goldberg, 91, of Natick, formerly of Great Neck, NY and Hollywood, FL entered into rest on December 22, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Goldberg.
Born in New York, NY, daughter of the late Harry and Gertrude Birnbaum, Mrs. Goldberg was raised and educated in New York City. She earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from New York University and was a devoted Business Education teacher at Great Neck South Senior High School in Great Neck, NY. In her retirement, Mrs. Goldberg settled in Hollywood, FL. In recent years she moved to Natick, MA to be closer to her daughter. Dedicated to her family, Mrs. Goldberg enjoyed gardening, horticulture, golf, tennis, and cooking.
She is survived by 3 children, Sandy and Gwen Garret of NYC, Roy and Meryl Goldberg of NJ, and Helen Goldberg of Ashland; and 5 grandchildren, Adam, Lauren, Cori, Alyssa, and Jesse. She was pre-deceased by her sister Ruth Karol.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service in the Chapel of the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) NATICK on Monday, December 26, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Rabbi Frank Waldorf, Rabbi Emeritus of Temple Sinai of Brookline will officiate. Burial will take place in Hollywood, FL. Donations in Mrs. Goldberg’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. of MA, 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472.
