Mrs. Josephine L. Sutton, age 84, of Loudon, NH formerly of Houston, TX and Woburn, MA, passed away unexpectedly following a short illness on December 22nd. Born in Woburn she was the daughter of the late Frank Gentile and Annie (Mele) Gentile Gourlis.
Josephine was raised and educated in Woburn and was a member of the Woburn High School graduating class of 1944. Following high school she soon married and moved to Houston, Texas where she raised her family and worked for many years as an administrator in the health care industry. Josephine was a kind and loving mother and had a wonderful sense of humor. Mostly devoted to her loving family, she enjoyed and cherished spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren. Throughout her life she also enjoyed traveling with family and friends with some of her most memorable trips traveling to Italy and Greece.
Josephine is survived by her children, Robert Lawrence of Costa Rica, Judith Jacobson of PA, Michael Lawrence and his wife Corrine of TX, Daniel Lawrence and his wife Charlene of NH. She is also survived by eleven loving grandchildren and two loving great grandchildren. She is the cherished sister of Frank Gentile of Lowell, Rudy Gentile of Arlington, Charles Gourlis of Woburn, Charlotte Best of South Carolina, the late Josephine Ann Kenney and Mary Croft. She is also survived by her longtime loving companion Edward H. Smith of NH.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Tuesday, December 27th, at 11:15 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 12:15 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday from 3 thru 7 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Josephine's memory to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Assoc., c/o Hospice House, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord, NH 03301.
