Hooksett– John E. “Jack” Burke Jr., 71, died December 22, 2011 at the Elliot Hospital following a sudden illness.
He was born in Manchester on November 1, 1940 the son of John and Elizabeth (Merritt) Burke Sr. He had been a lifelong resident of this community.
He was educated in the Manchester school system and graduated from Manchester Central High School, class of 1958. He earned his Associates Degree in Accounting from NH College, now SNHU.
Prior to his retirement he was a transportation distribution manager for PSNH for over 35 years.
He held membership in the Kiwanis Club and the Masons.
Family members include his wife of 42 years, Jane (Dobzanski) Burke of Hooksett, 2 sons; John E. “Skip” Burke III of Dunbarton, William “Bill” Burke and his wife Karen of Bedford, 1 daughter; Carol Klabough and her husband Rick of Mt. Horeb, WI., 6 grandchildren; Morgan Burke, Olivia Burke, Jordan Burke, Owen Klabough, Tola Klabough, Madison Burke, 1 sister; Judith McNamara of Manchester, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM in St. Joseph Cathedral, Pine and Lowell Sts. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
