Obituary

William E. Higton age 78 of Salem, NH, died Wednesday at the VA Medical Center, Manchester, NH.

He was born in Methuen, MA, grew up and was educated in Salem, NH, where he was a life long resident.

Bill was a self employed painting contractor and also owned his own paint store. He was a member of the Pulpit Rock Masonic Lodge in Pelham, NH, where he was Past Master. He was also a member, Past Master, & current Secretary for the Spicket Masonic Lodge, Salem, NH. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies of Nashua, and the Bektash Shriners of Concord, NH, and was a member of the Aides Unit & Clowns Unit. He was also a former volunteer fireman for Salem, NH. Bill served his country in the United States Air Force, during the Korean War.

Bill was the son of the late Ernest & Gladys Higton. He was also predeceased by his sister Barbara Taylor.

He is survived by his wife: Ruth (Stocks) Higton of Salem, NH

Daughters: Ellen & her Husband Robert Hagopian of North Carolina
Nancy Forgue of Salem, NH

Son: William & his wife Karen Higton of Maryland

Son In Law: David Forgue of Plaistow, NH

6 Grandchildren: Catelyn, Benjamin, Sarah, Christopher, Derek, & Robbie

Niece: Karen Warrenfells of Florida

Calling hours will be Tuesday, Dec. 27th from 4-8 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. A Masonic Service will be held at 7PM.

Funeral services will be celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 28th at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
