James D. Manion, 84, passed away Monday December 19, 2011 at St's. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.
He was born in Louisville, KY to William & Lois (Miller) Manion.
James was a an Independent Insurance Agent, representing Nationwide Insurance Co. for many years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and the Korean conflict. He was a member of Lewis-Parkland Masonic Lodge # 638 F&AM,
A member of Shively Heights Baptist Church for 48 years, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Adult Sunday School Teacher and Childrens Teacher Aid. He currently is a member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church.
James was preceded in death by his Parents; a Sister: Elois Mae Manion; Daughter: Vickie Manion Saling; and a Grand Daughter: Stephanie Nicole Saling.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lavada (Kitchens) Manion; a Son-In-Law: Robert A. Saling; Grand Daughter: Rachel Michelle Saling; and a Great Grandson: Victor James Saling; a Brother: William Duane Manion (Rose).
Funeral service will be 12 Noon Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. with entombment in Evergreen Mausoleum to follow.
Visitation will be today, Wednesday 2 - 8 PM.
