Joseph A. "Chuck" Benoit, age 72 of Fall River, passed away Dec. 21, 2011. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Martin) Benoit and the son of the late Adelard Joseph Benoit Jr. and Angelina C. (Carvalho-Tavares) Benoit. Prior to retiring, Mr. Benoit worked as a Supervisor for Belcher Malleble Foundry. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge of Fall River.
Mr. Benoit is survived by his long time companion: Irene Governo of Fall River; his children: Lisa Benoit-Sobolewski of Riverside, RI, Jocelyn A. Benoit & Christopher J. Benoit both of Fall River; grandchildren: Nikisia Freeman, Ethan & Emma Sobolewski; siblings: James Benoit of Springfield, MO, David Benoit of Pittsfield, MA, Thomas Benoit of Fall River, Patricia Texeira of Westport, Carolyn Manchester of Fall River, Dorothy L. Kershaw of Somerset, and Susan Benoit of Fall River; many nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Raymond Benoit.
Following cremation, his funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on SATURDAY here at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 11:00 A.M. Private burial will take place at a later date.
