Whitman – Irene L. (Chmiela) Stachowski 90, entered into eternal peace on Tuesday December 20th in the St. Joseph Manor in Brockton. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank J. Stachowski.
Born and raised in the Hyde Park section of Boston she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Szewcryk) Chmiela, and a graduate of Hyde Park High.
Before her move to Whitman where she had resided for 10 years, Irene had been a 30 year resident of Dorchester, working for many years in the housekeeping department of Saint Margaret’s Hospital. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Sodality of South Boston.
She enjoyed crocheting and shared her talents with the many gifts she made for family and friends.
She is survived by her loving children Ronald Stachowski and his wife Pat of Whitman, Richard Stachowski of Dorchester, Robert Stachowski and his wife Kathy of Braintree, and Roselyn Clark and her husband Richard of Whitman, and her sister Theresa Ross of Canton. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored.
Her services will be held Tuesday December 27 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel (Rt. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, Followed by a funeral mass at 9 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Monday December 26 form 2-5 PM.
