Obituary

Eleanor M. Gauthier 83, of Franklin, died peacefully, Tuesday December 20th, 2011 at Milford Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born April 3, 1928 in Brighton, a daughter of the late Harry and Frances C. (Connell) Gauthier, she was raised in Allston where she was a former longtime resident, and had lived in Franklin since 1976.
A woman of special needs, she was part of the Alternatives Unlimited community in Whitinsville where she was an inspiration to all whom she came in contact with. She loved her family and treasured time spent with them, she enjoyed Irish music, holding decks of cards, and reminiscing about the old days. Her favorite thing to do was visiting Disney World and seeing Mickey Mouse.
She will be remembered as someone who brought unconditional love to 4 generations of her family.
Eleanor is survived by a brother, John H. Gauthier of Braintree and a sister & primary caregiver Marilyn F. Shaw of Franklin, with whom she lived. She is also survived by her nieces & nephews who include; Diane Friend and her husband Dana of Franklin, Lynn Shaw and her partner Edward T. Lang, Jr. of Franklin, Patty Shaw-Mullaney and her husband Bernie Mullaney, Jr., of Franklin, Denise Spaulding and her husband Ron of Braintree, Jeffrey Gauthier and his wife Robin of Abington, John Gauthier and his wife Joanne of Braintree, Rita Dennehy and her husband Tom of Abington, and Paul Gauthier and his wife Christine of Rockland, and for the past seven years Sue Borozny of Woonsocket, who along with Marilyn cared for Eleanor with great love.
Eleanor leaves behind a host of great nieces & nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was the aunt of the late David E. Shaw & James E. Shaw
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Thursday December 22nd, at 10:30AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com., with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 11AM.
Interment will follow at the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery in Brighton.
Calling hours are Thursday from 9-10:30AM prior to the mass.
