Paul G. Merrill, 86, formerly of Medway and Palm Harbor, FL, died Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Coleman House in Northboro. He was the husband of Winifred (Taylor) Merrill who died in 1985.
Born in Boston on February 22, 1925, he was the son of the late John and Jennie (Miskinis) Merrill.
Mr. Merrill earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Bentley College and was an Army veteran of WWII, attaining the rank of sergeant.
Before his retirement, he worked as a divisional controller at GCA Corp. in Bedford and had formerly worked at Arthur D. Little in Boston
An avid golfer, Mr. Merrill was a longtime member of both the Franklin Country Club and Walpole Country Club. He was also a member of the Medway Lions Club and enjoyed bowling.
He is survived by two daughters, Darlene Varrichione and her husband Joseph of Hopkinton and Dianne Leco and her husband Eugene of North Attleboro and a son Douglas Merrill and his wife Mary of Safety Harbor, FL.
He is also survived by six grandchildren, Andrea, Joseph, Jr. and Jennifer Varrichione and Domenic, Gene and Anthony Leco and three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Emily and Olivia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Friday, December 23 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m.
