
Mr. James C. Pearson, Sr., an eighteen year resident of Stoneham, formerly of Medford and beloved husband and best friend of Ruthanne (Galjaard) Pearson, died unexpectedly at Lahey Clinic in Burlington on Saturday, December 17, 2011. He was 74 years old.
Born in Winchester, Massachusetts, on July 6, 1937, he was the beloved son of the late Daniel C. and Abbie M. (Richard) Pearson. Mr. Pearson served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict, entering the military on January 4, 1955 and receiving his honorable discharge on February 13, 1958. He was awarded the Navy Occupation Service Medal for his outstanding service. In civilian life, James worked as a Millwright at H.K. Porter for over 32 years. He was then employed as a custodian for the Medford Public School system for 14 years. Mr. Pearson loved to go to the beach. Above all he adored his wife and family, always cherishing their time together.
Besides his beloved wife, Ruthanne, Mr. Pearson will be very sorely missed by his loving children; Peter C. Pearson and his fiance Lynda Maider of Littleton, Nancy E. and her husband Gregory R. Wynn of Birmingham, Alabama and James C. and his wife Brenda J. Pearson of Medford, siblings; Barbara Gabriel of New York, Lorraine McDonough of Winchester, Edward and his wife Sheila Pearson of Florida, Thomas and his wife Dianne Pearson of Reading and Dennis and his wife Irene of Vermont, grandchildren; Charrese, Joel, Ryan, Adam, Sarah, Louie and Jilda, great-grandchildren; Alyssa, Daniel, Haley, Joel Jr., Emma, Roger, Amanda, Ava, Ashley, Mia and Jared and and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Daniel Jr. and M. Gloria Pearson and grandfather of the late Emily.
His memorial service was celebrated in the Grace Episcopal Church, 160 High Street, Medford, Wednesday at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully were in attendance.
