Robert J. Hamm, age 83, of Brockton, died December 19, 2011 at BayPointe Nursing and Rehabilitation following a brief illness. He was the husband of Debra J. (Salovitz) Hamm. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Edgar B. and Annette (Rancourt) Hamm and was the step-son of the late Lillian (Dean) Hamm. Robert was a graduate of the Randolph School for the Deaf and had been a longtime member of the Quincy Deaf Club. He was a lifelong finished carpenter and for 35 years enjoyed bowling and playing softball. He was also an avid fan of all the Boston Major League teams.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Robert E. Hamm and his wife Donna of Raynham, Raymond Hamm, Annette Cote and her fiancé Walter Caballero and Patrick Hamm and his wife Maria all of Taunton; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister Martha Redgate and her husband George “Dyke” of East Bridgewater and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Debra Hamm and brother of the late Richard Hamm, Edgar Hamm, Marion Pelaggi, Claire Lindquist and Lucille Dixon.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday 4-7pm, with a Service at 7pm. Burial will be at a later date in Pine Hill Cemetery.
