Douglas– Beatrice L. (Lozoraitis) Saviskas, 89, of Douglas, died Tuesday, March 16 at St. Camillus Health Center, where she had been a resident for several months. Her husband, Bruno J. Saviskas died in 1977.
She leaves a son, Judson P. Saviskas, his wife and two daughters, of Stamford, CT, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Lozoraitis and Alphonse Lozoraitis, and two sisters, Helen Zuromskis and Frances Palaski. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Peter and Valerie (Balchunas) Lozoraitis and lived in Worcester until 1977, when she moved to Douglas.A graduate of Classical High School, she studied millinery for a while in NYC until returning to Worcester.
Along with her husband, she founded and operated A-1 Sheet Metal Works of Worcester from 1938 to 1976.
She was a lifelong member of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, and a member of St. Casimir’s Parish many years ago.
She was an avid gardener and Rhode Island beach goer.
A commital service will be held in the chapel of St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge St., Worcester, at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 20. Calling hours are from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 19, in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., Worcester.
