Robert G. "Bobby" Bettencourt, Jr., 48, also known as "Alleycat", of Fall River, died suddenly on Friday December 16, 2011 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Oakland, California, the son of the late Aurora (Desjardins) Flood and Robert G. Bettencourt, he lived in New Bedford for many years and in Fall River for the past eight years.
Bobby was a man of many talents. He attended Bristol Community College in the Enviromental Studies Program. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and was a lifetime member of the MLB Insider Club.
Survivors include his wife Dianne Woodis; his children, Courtney Bettencourt, Kasi Bettencourt, April Miller, and Jaime Garman; his siblings, Lawrence Flood, John Flood, Richard Flood, Christine Sylvia, Janet Valliere, Donna Sylvia, and Rosie Bettencourt; his grandchildren, Alivia Rae Miller, MiaBella Lyn Bettencourt, Alex W.P. Perez, and Jacob David Perez; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Bonnie Sylvia.
His Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 10 AM at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 195 Whitman St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to his family or the American Cancer Society.
