Jackie T. Davis, 78, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, December 17, 2011, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Monday, December 19, 2011, in the Evergreen Cemetery with the Dr. Mike Ruffin officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 Monday morning at the funeral home.
Mrs. Davis was born February 2, 1933 in Lax, Georgia to the late Oliver V. and Donna McNease Tucker. She was a graduate of Lax High School and received an Associate’s Degree from South Georgia College. She worked over 25 years for Fitzgerald Underwear serving in Quality Assurance. She formerly worked with Sandy’s Day Care and alongside her husband on the family farm. She loved children, gardening, tending flowers, and participating in social events while living at Meadow Run. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Genesis Sunday school class.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Dale & Mike Niday of Fitzgerald; son: Jimmy Davis of Fitzgerald; grandchildren and their spouses: Luke & Tina Niday of Augusta, James & Ashley Davis of Pooler, Mark & Lauryn Niday of Moultrie, and Lauren Davis of Fitzgerald; and three great-grandchildren: Mary Davis Niday, Emilee Niday, and Kaitlyn Grace Davis. She was preceded in death in 1994 by her husband of 40 years: James Herbert Davis, a daughter-in-law: Carol Davis, three brothers: Ermal Tucker, Denton Tucker, and Winston Tucker, and two sisters: Doris Kayes and Iva Clements.
