SOUTH DENNIS/SPENCER; Marie T. (Pothier) Messier, 79, of 19 Chestnut Lane, died Saturday, December 17 at EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Brewster.
She was the wife of Francis G. Messier who died in 1998.
She leaves five sons; James F. Messier of Worcester, Ronald C. Messier and his wife Colleen of Newport News, VA, Richard A. Messier and his wife Kay of Sutton, Stephen J. Messier and his wife Becky of East Brookfield, Kenneth A. Messier of Griswold, Ct., a daughter, Diane M. Robbins and husband Russell of Dennis, a brother, Theodore Pothier of Arlington, a sister, Claire Ryan of Malden, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by a son, David M. Messier in 1954.
Born in Somerville, MA, she was the daughter of Theodore & Adele (Surette) Pothier and lived in Spencer from 1951-1984 before moving to South Dennis.
Mrs. Messier was a cashier for 26 years working at supermarkets in Spencer and in Cape Cod, retiring in 1994.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Cape in Brewster and worked in their Thrift Shop and during BINGO.
The Funeral will be held Tuesday, December 20 from the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer, with a Mass at 9:30 A.M. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Calling hours are Monday from 5-8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will take place in the MA National Cemetery in Bourne at the convenience of the family.
