Obituary

Methuen, Ma – Sister Lucia Henault, PMA 100 yrs. died Thursday December 15, 2011 at the Ste. Claire Residence.
Sister Lucia Henault, was born on June 12, 1911 the daughter of Alpheus and Marina (Pinard) Henault in St. Jacques, Causapscal, Quebec, Canada.
She attended school in her native village. The family moved to Manchester, NH when Lucia was 12 years of age There, she continued her studies with five of her sisters at Saint Mary Parochial School where she met the Presentation of Mary Sisters.
In 1929, Lucia entered the Novitiate of the Presentation of Mary in Saint Hyacinthe, Canada. After two years of preparation, Sister Lucia pronounced her religious vows on August 17, 1931, taking the name of Sister Rita-du-Sacre-Coer. She served her Congregation in various ministries, first in Canada. In 1943 she was sent to the USA, in Biddeford, ME, at Stella Maris. She also dedicated her life as a teacher to the little ones in Maine and Massachusetts before coming to St. Claire Residence in 1985. In 2006, because of her declining health, she retired waiting for the last call from God.
Sister Lucia leaves one sister, Claire Harvey of Tennessee, and a niece Sandy Tull.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in Presentation of Mary Chapel with burial to follow in Presentation of Mary Cemetery both in Methuen.
Calling hours will take place on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. at the Ste. Claire Residence 209 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
