Worcester – Roland S. Burritt Sr., 78, of Worcester, died on Thursday, Dec. 15th in the Saint Francis Home.
Mr. Burritt is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bella M. (Largess) Burritt; his children, Paul A. Burritt of Worcester, Steven M. Burritt of Dudley, Diane C. Banfill of West Brookfield, Brenda T. Burritt and Doreen M. Magnusson both of Worcester; 19 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Roland was born in Worcester, son of the late Arthur and Leah (L’Heureux) Burritt and is predeceased by two sons Roland Jr. and Michael as well as his siblings, Alfred Barrett, Doris Peters, Agnes Hildreth and Claire Burritt.
Mr. Burritt worked at one time for the Parks Department in the City of Worcester and he enjoyed playing pool as well being in the “Rhythm Boys Country Band”.
The funeral will be held on Monday, December 19th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Mass at 11 AM in Saint Joseph’s Church 35 Hamilton St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home on Monday.
