Margaret L. Durost, 92, of Manchester, NH, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004 in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester. Ms. Durost was born in S. Portland, ME on September 5, 1911, a daughter of the late Mark R. and Mabel (Files) Wilson. She was a resident of Goffstown for 15 years and spent most of her life in Derry. She was a 1928 graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Derry and later graduated from the Manchester Institute of Arts. She was employed as a shoeworker for Klev-Bro Shoe in Derry for 25 years. She was a local Derry artist who worked mostly with watercolors.
She is survived by her two daughters, Myrna J. Adams of Seminole, FL, Cynthia Durost of Acton, MA, three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; one sister, Louise Gardner, of Montana.
There will be no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Saturday March 20th at 1:00pm in her daughters home at 1 Martin Street, Acton, MA Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Society for the Protection of NH Forests, 54 Portsmouth Street, Concord, NH 03301. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry is handling the arrangements.
