Obituary

Jane P. (Putney) Ganem, 63, of Manchester died December 14, 2011 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Manchester on June 13, 1948, the daughter of Edward C. and Jane H. (Mendzela) Putney. She was educated in the local school system and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire. She also earned her master’s degree from Boston University.
Prior to retirement, she had been a teacher at Manchester High School West for 36 years. She was a member of the Manchester Education Association as well as the New Hampshire Education Association.
Jane loved spending time at the New Hampshire Seacoast, especially Hampton and Rye Beaches. She enjoyed being outdoors, kayaking, skiing, and swimming. She also enjoyed travelling, reading, and solving crossword puzzles. She will be remembered as a loving wife, daughter, sister and friend to many.
Family members include her husband of 23 years, William J. Ganem of Manchester; her mother of Manchester; three brothers, Edward Putney of Rye, Tom Putney and wife Sharon of Milford, Jack Putney and wife Sue of Bedford; nephews, nieces and cousins.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, December 19, 2011 at Our Lady of the Cedars Church, 140 Mitchell St, Manchester.
