WEBSTER - Rita E. (Germain) Duclos, 90, of Stoughton Avenue, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in UMass/Memorial Healthcare after being stricken ill at home. Her husband of 62 years, Roland H. “Duke” Duclos, died in 2003.
She leaves 2 sons, Donald R. Duclos and his wife Marlene of Tampa, FL and Gary P. Duclos and his wife Nancy A. of Newburyport; 2 daughters, Nancy G. Grochowski and her husband James and Norma Jean Curtis and her husband Stephen, all of Dudley; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Alice Berry of Dudley; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Adrienne L. Trudeau in 2003, by her granddaughter, Tracy Duclos in 1980, and by 7 brothers and a sister.
She was born and raised in Oxford, a daughter of Isaac and Louisa (Christian) Germain. She moved to Webster at the time of her marriage in 1941. She graduated from Leo’s Beauty Institute in Worcester as a cosmetologist.
Mrs. Duclos owned and operated The Beauty Mark from 1964 until 2008. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Guided by her deep faith, her passion in life was her family: a beloved mother and the best “Meme” anyone could ever have.
The funeral will be held Saturday, December 17, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, December 16, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to St. Anne Elementary School, 12 Day Street, PO Box 818, Webster, MA 01570-0818.
