Obituary

Joseph S. “Pete” Gallant, age 83, of Windham, NH; passed away on Tuesday December 13, 2011 at Academy Manor in Andover, MA after a period of failing health.
Pete was born in Lawrence, Ma. to the late Sylvio and Rose (Rheaume) Gallant. He was raised and educated in Lawrence and Methuen. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 24 years, Adeline (Parolisi) (Bolcavitch) Gallant who died in August of 2010, his previous wife Eleanor (Roy) Gallant who died in 1986, and a brother, Robert of New York. Mr. Gallant worked at Watts Regulator and various auto dealerships.
He was a communicant of Saint Lucy Church in Methuen.
Pete is survived by his loving children, Sharon Welch of Florida, Michael Gallant and his wife Priscilla (Buchanan) of Florida, Ann Marie Jardine of Bradford, Kevin and his wife Mary (Fabrizio) of Methuen, June Dinsmore and her husband Barry of Bradford, Mark and wife Eileen (Farra) of Shrewsbury, and Cynthia Buffum and her husband John of Bradford, he is also survived by his stepchildren Richard Bolcavitch of Andover, Joan Rigby of Windham, NH, and Jane and her husband Tom Porada of Salem, NH.
He also leaves 13 grandchildren, and 4 step grandchildren 13 greatgrandchildren and 4 step greatgrandchildren and one greatgreat granddaughter.
Pete loved spending time at the beach, golf, bowling and playing cards, especially 45’s. He and Adeline enjoyed traveling; and spending time in Barefoot Bay, Florida with their friends and visiting his children in Florida in the winter. He cherished his family and spending time with them. He was a former member of the French Social Club in Lawrence. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the B100 Unit at Academy Manor for the exceptional care and compassion given to him during his two month stay there.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday morning at 10 o’clock in Saint Lucy Church in Methuen with burial to follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Friends will be warmly received on Friday from 3-8 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
