Paul B. Motta, 63, of Dartmouth died Saturday December 10, 2011 at home after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford the son of the late Alfred and Constance "Connie" (Pacheco) Motta, he was raised in Dartmouth and had lived in Pawtucket, RI and Hartford, CT for many years before returning to Dartmouth nine years ago.
He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
Mr. Motta was a computer programmer who performed contract work for various corporations. He was also the C.E.O. of Palimo Super Store, an online retail company.
He was a graduate of Dartmouth High School and attended Bristol Community College.
In the 1960s, he was a bass player for the band "The Summer Sounds." He had been a volunteer for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Survivors include his aunts and uncles, Dorothy Lima Ferro, Arthur "Chief" Pacheco, Theresa B. Pereira, M. Norma Ferro, Evelyn Lavimoniere, and Charles Motta; his Godchildren, Joshua Gilbert Lima and Jesseca O. Young; and many cousins.
He was the nephew of the late John Pacheco, Jr., Manuel "Sam" Pacheco, Joseph Pacheco, Gilbert Pacheco, Jesse Pacheco, Carlos Pacheco, Manuel Motta, Nora Moreira, and Maria Motta.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 AM at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
