Dennehy, John J. “Jack” Jr., 61 of Marshfield December 11. Beloved husband of Janet L. (Fleming) Dennehy. Loving father of Shannon Jameson and her husband Jimmy of Marshfield and Jay Dennehy of Marshfield. Loving grandfather to Allyson, Mariah, and Lily Jameson. Devoted son of Wanda Dennehy of Scituate and the late John J. Dennehy Sr. Brother of Theresa Murphy and her husband Paul of Fort Lauderdale, Patricia Ryan and her husband Dan of Marshfield, Wanda Dennehy of Oldsmar, Fl., and the late Barbara Dennehy. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jack also leaves his longtime, dear friends Pat and Mal Croall of Quincy.
Jack was born and raised in Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School, class of 1968.He has been a resident of Marshfield since 1968. After his graduation, Jack entered the Army, serving from 1968-1975, and was an Army RA engineer stationed in Vietnam from December of 1969 to November of 1970. Upon his discharge, Jack worked for his father in Rorke and Dennehy Disposal for three years, then worked in local 1429 building and wrecking for several years. After leaving that position Jack worked for the Marshfield DPW, for fifteen years, retiring in 2006. Jack loved fishing and being outdoors. He especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family, particularly the joys of his life, his grandchildren.
Visiting hours at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St, rte. 139, Marshfield on Friday, December 16 from 4 to 7 pm.
A Funeral from the MacDonald Funeral Home Saturday, December 17 at 9:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann by the Sea Church at 10:00 am.
Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery, Marshfield.
