Josephine I. (Owens) Cross 88 of Stoneham died December 11 in the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin.
She was the wife of the late Lawrence Cross to whom she had been married for 65 years.
Born in East Boston, September 28, 1923, the daughter of the late Charles W. and Irene (Kendall) Owens, Mrs. Cross was raised in East Boston and had lived in Stoneham for 64 years.
A homemaker, Mrs. Cross loved animals had had contributed to many animal charities throughout the years to help in their care.
She is survived by her children, Lawrence E. Cross of Mercer, PA, Michael Cross and his wife Connie of Medford and her daughter Deborah McClellan and her husband William of Franklin.
She was the sister of Mary Richards of Stoneham.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bryan McClellan and his wife Tina, Alissa McClellan, Laura and Melissa Cross.
Her memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 15 in St. Patrick’s Church at 10:00.
