John Dawson age 80 of Salem, NH, died Monday at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH.
He was born in Salem, where he grew up and attended schools. Mr. Dawson was a lifelong resident of Salem, NH.
Mr. Dawson was a retired Lieutenant for the Salem, NH Fire Department, where he worked for over 30 years in the North Salem Fire Station. He began his career as an On Call Fireman at age 19 at the North Salem Station. He was also a US Forest Service Deputy Fire Warden for many years, as well as an EMT.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Salem, NH. He enjoyed raising livestock and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
His wife Barbara M. (Murray) Dawson, who passed away in February 2004, predeceased him.
He is survived by 2 Daughters: Jane & her Husband Richard Craffey of Londonderry, NH

3 Sons: John R. Dawson & his wife Shirley of Plaistow, NH

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 AM at St. Joseph Church, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, No. Salem, NH.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4-7 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
